Sundre Pioneer Village Museum

The Sundre Pioneer Museum is located at 122 1st Avenue in Sundre. The summer hours of operation are 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. every day from the May long weekend to the September long weekend. Winter hours are 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. Fridays and Saturdays and 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. on Sundays.

The collection at the museum includes historic buildings, farm equipment, and artefacts used by local pioneers. There is a display of how taxidermy was performed from 1900 to 1950, as well as there are handicraft demonstrations. The Sundre Museum is currently presenting “Chester Mjolsness’s World of Wildlife” exhibit, which features more than 150 animal mounts from all continents against backgrounds painted to depict their natural habitats.

The Sundre Pioneer Village Museum does not currently offer specific education program, however, tours are always available for students. Visitors are encouraged to browse the gift shop.
